It is generally believed that this friend refers to Rong Ruo's son's bosom friend, Gu Zhenguan, another great poet at that time.

Getting along with the right person should always be as sweet, warm, affectionate and happy as when we first met. But you and I should love each other, but why should we leave each other today? It's easy to change your heart now, but you say it's easy to change your heart in this world.

Just like Tang He, you and I swore a life-and-death oath in the Palace of Eternal Life, but we finally said goodbye. Even so, we don't have any resentment. But how can Tang compare with that year? He has always made a vow to be a pair of birds and connect the branches with Yang Yuhuan.
