When our sophomore college was divided into majors, a professor of the college applied for a patent because he made a process in the direction of fertilizer preparation, sold the technology to the company and became the technical director of the company, which made great economic benefits. Every senior year, the company will go to the campus to recruit. During the recruitment process, I found that the starting salary of undergraduate graduates majoring in electronic information and computer science is 9k per month, followed by students majoring in economic and financial management, with the starting salary of 7K per month. Then there are students majoring in environmental agriculture, with a starting salary of 6k per month. Although the starting salary can't explain much, the future career development cannot surpass other industries. There is a saying in Buddhism that "others are hell", which warns us not to keep up with others all the time. But if you really like this major and like exploring the mysteries of nature, and your math is your weakness, then I suggest you don't have to compare with others in this field and feel at ease. However, if you are talented in mathematics and your physical strength is not as good as your mental strength, it is strongly recommended to transfer to an industry that can give full play to your advantages, such as computer or financial economics, because the major of environment and ecological restoration is hard, but the requirements for mathematics are very low. If your advantages are not brought into play, but your disadvantages are undoubtedly revealed, your study and work career will be greatly frustrated. As for how to choose, please take your seats accordingly.

If you decide to choose this major, there are three ways out.

First of all, be a civil servant in the environmental protection department of the government. At present, there are professional requirements for the recruitment of civil servants, and it is easier for environmental-related majors to enter government departments, and the work of the Environmental Protection Bureau will be relatively easy in the future.

Secondly, studying for a doctorate or even a postdoctoral degree is a decent way out, but it is not suitable for everyone. The specific research directions are soil direction, atmosphere direction, sewage treatment direction, environmental restoration direction and solid waste treatment direction.

Finally, if you go to an enterprise, you can get the title of environmental appraiser, or go to the technical department of the enterprise to participate in research and development, or go out to do research. However, at present, the number of environmental protection enterprises is limited, so there are fewer jobs. When recruiting, you will find that many companies recruit talents in electronics and economics, and few companies recruit talents in environmental protection. This requires you to be mentally prepared.
