I personally prefer ZTE's R&D direction for the following reasons:

1. Brand advantage: Ericsson is the largest equipment manufacturer in the world. ZTE is one of the most famous equipment manufacturers in China (Huawei, ZTE and Datang). The industry's support for state-owned brands is obvious to all. If it develops in China, the brand strength is comparable.

2. Salary: R&D is generally a fixed basic salary plus project subsidies (for example, Datang's R&D basic salary is about 7~8K, for reference only). The salary of network optimization direction is basic salary+travel allowance, etc. Network optimization is mainly to earn travel expenses (domestic equipment manufacturers' optimization projects vary from100 to 300 per day, which is also for reference only). In terms of salary, optimization may attract more money than research and development, but how many years can you swim?

3. Prospect: At present, equipment manufacturers have very strict requirements for R&D talents, and there are many opportunities for R&D talents to transform in the future, such as transforming into project managers (management) and lecturers, or transforming into practical technologies (such as network optimization); Network optimization needs practical and skilled talents, and the entry requirements are much looser than R&D. The future transformation mainly includes: optimizing the project manager (still on a business trip) and technical support. But it is not difficult to turn R&D into optimization, and it is difficult to turn optimization into research and development.
