At present, the college has six departments of mechanical technology, mechanical engineering, electromechanical engineering, numerical control technology, automobile engineering and textile engineering, as well as a training center and an adult education center. Mechanic education offers nearly 30 majors such as machining, mechanical assembly and repair, mechatronics, numerical control programming and application, and automotive application technology. Higher vocational education offers 12 majors such as mechanical design and manufacturing, mold design and manufacturing, mechatronics technology, numerical control technology and automobile application technology.

The college currently has more than 1 10,000 students. There are 3 15 full-time teachers, of which 39.4% are professional and technical teachers with associate senior or above, and 6 1.2% are "double-qualified" professional teachers with intermediate or above titles. There are nearly 30 provincial and municipal professional qualification examiners. In recent years, more than 50 teachers in the college have won provincial awards, edited or edited more than 50 kinds of teaching materials, and 20 scientific research achievements have won provincial awards or above.

The college attaches great importance to the quality of personnel training. The qualified rate of graduates and the certificate-receiving rate of professional and technical grade certificates reached over 98%, and the excellent student rate was higher than the city average 10%. In previous technical competitions, the overall score has always been the first in the group. Yantai Milling Machine Accessories Factory, an internship factory under the College, is a leader in gearbox manufacturing industry with strong technical force and strong product development and design capabilities. The mechanical and electrical products with 20 series and more than 800 specifications are sold to dozens of countries and regions such as the United States, Japan, Australia and Europe, earning more than 8 million US dollars annually. College students can get in touch with the production mode and corporate culture of advanced enterprises without leaving school, and the students trained have solid theoretical knowledge. College graduates are widely distributed in large and medium-sized enterprises and foreign-funded enterprises such as Shanghai General Motors, Daewoo Heavy Industries, Ice Wheel Group and Hisense Group, and the employment rate of graduates has remained above 95%.

The college actively carries out foreign exchanges and cooperation. In order to directly learn from the experience of foreign vocational education and actively explore multi-form and multi-level international cooperation models, we have established long-term exchange of students and scientific and educational cooperation relations with foreign universities such as Britain, France, Australia and Canada. The college also cooperates with Shandong University, Tianjin Engineering Teachers College, Hubei Automobile College and other institutions of higher learning to realize complementary advantages. In the long-term practice of running a school, a multi-level and multi-form school-running pattern combining technical education, junior college education and adult education has been formed.

On August 26th, 2006, with the approval of Shandong Provincial Sports Bureau, Shandong Table Tennis School was formally established in the college. Under the dual leadership of Shandong Provincial Sports Bureau and College, the school is a full-time boarding school with primary school, middle school (junior high school) and technical secondary school, and is the talent training base of Shandong Table Tennis Management Center. The school adheres to the concept of high orientation, high starting point and high standard, and implements the strategy of "famous teacher". The school takes Zhang, a veteran of table tennis in China, as its honorary principal, and has hired coaches with excellent moral character and excellent skills throughout the country. The school is equipped with cultural teachers and life teachers with bachelor degree or above.
