Basic information of seven-day red garden

Qirihong Park is located at the foot of Top Pu Sang Mountain in the northwest suburb of Shantou City, with a planned construction land area of 277,009.8 square meters. It is adjacent to Shantou University in the west, Longquan Rock in the east and National Highway 206 in the south. The traffic is very convenient, the trees are lush, the mountains and rivers are beautiful, the pavilions are pavilions, and the cultural landscape is rich. Starting from the mountaineering road, the path twists and turns to the monument. Looking southeast, you can see the bustling urban area, the majestic stone bridge and the bay bridge.

The park is divided into four areas by function: memorial area, recreation area, mountain forest browsing area and management area. Chaoshan Monument to the People's Heroes is the main memorial building in the park. It was built on the 90-meter-high Zhubiao Peak, with a height of 39.8 meters. The front of the monument was inscribed by the former president Yang, and the back of the Chaoshan People's Heroes Monument was set up by the Shantou Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China and the Shantou Municipal People's Government. With the clue that a single spark can start a prairie fire, the park embodies the theme that the road is tortuous and the red flag does not fall, so that the glorious deeds of revolutionary martyrs will last forever, and the spirit of revolutionary martyrs will always inspire the next generation.

During the first and second revolutionary civil wars, Comrade Zhou Enlai came to Chaoshan for revolutionary activities four times. The third time was in September, 1927. Under the leadership of Zhou Enlai and other comrades, Nanchang Bayi Uprising troops moved to Chaoshan. On the afternoon of 23rd, the main force of the Rebel Army occupied Chaozhou, and on the afternoon of 24th, it entered Shantou City to set up a revolutionary committee. Under the siege of the superior forces of the Kuomintang, the rebels withdrew from Chaoshan on the 30 th, which is the famous Chaoshan Seven-Day Red.
