What's the difference between Meixian County and Meijiang District?

Tell everyone the real difference. They used to be called Mei Xian. 1988 When Meizhou was founded, Meixian County and several towns were placed under Meijiang District. Since then, Meixian has experienced the history of "no city in the county", and the governments at all levels in Meixian still live in Meijiang District. It was not until 1993 that a new county was established next to it, so it was called "new county". It can be roughly divided into: Xingning to Meijiang, bounded by Qiuyun Bridge and Jiaying West Road, Meijiang District in the east and Meixian New County in the west. But why do most people, including most Meizhou people, easily confuse them? It is because the word "Meixian" has always been used to address Meixian and Meijiang District. For example, if you want to go to Meicheng, you are usually called Meixian. However, since 1988, Meijiang District has been zoned out independently, which is already a different administrative unit from Meixian County.
