What is the difference between single-sided punching and double-sided punching?

The burr of single-sided punch is bigger than that of double-sided punch. Moreover, because the punch is stressed unilaterally, the punch is also easy to be damaged.

Punching refers to meeting different needs, specifically: splayed holes, hexagonal holes, punching holes, long holes, square holes, round holes, punching nets, triangular holes and so on. Although there are many similarities in deformation performance and characteristics between tube punching and plate punching, because the tube is a hollow cylindrical blank, the tube wall contacted by the punch and the die is an isolated surface, not a plane like plate punching, so special technological measures and die structure are needed.

The traditional stamping method is to process a through hole on a flat plate with a stamping die.

The tube stamping process can be divided into steel die stamping and rubber die stamping.

The punching process of steel die is to punch the pipe with a punch and die made of tool steel. According to the relationship between the moving direction of the punch and the moving direction of the slider of the press when the die works, the stamping of the steel die can be divided into vertical stamping and horizontal stamping. The so-called vertical drilling means that the moving direction of the punch is consistent with the moving direction of the press slider.

The punch is placed on the upper die and reciprocates up and down with the slider of the press, while the female die is installed on the cantilever bracket of the lower die. Because the female die of this die is cantilever-mounted, it can be called cantilever punching die. The so-called horizontal punching, that is, the moving direction of the punch is perpendicular to the moving direction of the slider of the press, is to fix the punch and the die on the lower die, and use the inclined wedge fixed on the upper die to push the slider with the punch on the lower die to move horizontally, so as to achieve the purpose of flushing the pipe wall.

Because this kind of die uses the inclined wedge mechanism to drive the punch to move horizontally, it can be called inclined wedge die.
