Brief introduction of Wuhan Institute of Material Protection

The institute is mainly engaged in research and development in the following fields: electrodeposition, chemical deposition, conversion film, coating, sealing rust prevention, thermal spraying (welding), chemical heat treatment, laser surface alloying, vapor deposition, surface treatment technology and equipment, corrosion and protection engineering, environmental corrosion and surface engineering tribology technology. Our college has complete professional settings and advanced research equipment, and has more than 100 advanced test instruments and equipment.

The research institute is the centralized department of material corrosion, wear and surface protection of the former Ministry of Machinery Industry. At present, there are scientific research and test bases for mechanical corrosion/wear and surface protection, national surface coating atmospheric exposure field and atmospheric corrosion data network, electroplating product quality testing center of machinery industry, national electroplating productivity promotion center, Hubei surface engineering technology research center and Wuhan surface engineering technology research center. It belongs to China Surface Engineering Association, Surface Engineering Branch of China Mechanical Engineering Society, Surface Protection Committee of China Corrosion and Protection Society, and Secretariat of National Technical Committee for Standardization of Metallic and Nonmetallic Coatings.
