Changzhou Institute of Technology, located in economically developed Changzhou, undoubtedly occupies the advantage of being in harmony with people at the right time and place. Changzhou Institute of Technology, like many local universities, was an application-oriented university from the beginning. Its predecessor was Changzhou July 1st University of Technology, which was founded in 1978. Changzhou Vocational College was founded on 1980. 1982, Changzhou Institute of Technology was established. In 2000, Changzhou Institute of Technology and Changzhou Machinery Metallurgy Workers College merged to form Changzhou Institute of Technology, which was upgraded to an undergraduate course. In 2003, Changzhou Normal University was merged into Changzhou Institute of Technology.
