President Wang Guojian pointed out that the overall employment situation of graduates is not optimistic. “Higher education is a collection of professional education at various levels and in various forms, with the purpose of cultivating specialized talents in various fields.” ① Normal colleges have mushroomed in my country, and there are several in Guangdong Province, such as Hanshan Normal University, Chaozhou Normal University, Zhanjiang Normal University, Guangdong Technical Normal University, etc. "As of 2008, the number of teachers in basic education in my country was 5.62 million full-time teachers in primary schools, 3.47 million full-time teachers in junior high schools, 1.4755 million full-time teachers in high schools, and 1.03 million teachers in preschool education (including principals), totaling 11.5955 million." ② Per The educational career of each teacher will last for decades, and they will strive for their jobs throughout their lives, so the number of teachers will continue to expand. In a few years, the number of teachers will reach a certain level of saturation. Teachers are the key to promoting the sound and rapid development of education and cultivating high-quality talents. How to stand out among thousands of people and get hired as soon as possible? This requires schools and normal students to "show their special abilities".

2 Difficulties in employment of normal college students

The changes in the training objectives of colleges and universities have brought about changes in efficient majors. In order to adapt to the fluctuations in the talent market and social needs, it is necessary to adapt to changes and make reasonable analysis.

1. Graduate students and doctoral students are coming all the time

In addition to similar normal school students, competition for normal school graduates also includes non-normal school students and highly educated talents, which brings great challenges to normal school students. There is a saying in the current society that the salary of teachers is almost the same as that of civil servants. Instead of grabbing a job among thousands of troops, it is better to rely on one's own academic qualifications - graduate and doctoral qualifications to work as a teacher in developed areas. In this way, with the influx of highly educated talents, undergraduate normal students seem to be untenable. 2． "Three buckets of rice" for normal college students

In this way, the ultimate goal of normal school students seems to be positioned in the "1+1" model, that is, striving for university with "grade points + certificates." Of course, this is not enough. Of course, the school must provide good conditions to promote the development of their scientific research and innovation capabilities. Grade points, certificates and extracurricular research are regarded as important standards and ultimate indicators for measuring an outstanding graduate in Chinese education. 3. Necessary basic skills

With the rapid development of information technology, the ability development direction of normal students trained in colleges and universities has basically adapted to market demand, but the level of computer skills is still insufficient. A British study suggests that employers hope that graduates in the humanities should have three aspects of knowledge and abilities - a foreign language, mathematical skills and some information technology skills. ④ It is undoubtedly necessary for normal college students to understand Powerpoint, Word, and Excel in employers. On this basis, they require normal college students to master more technologies, such as web design, electronic magazine production, Photoshop, etc. Finally, you must know how to teach the class well so that students can understand it. Even if you become a teacher with excellent scientific research, high grades, and similar certificates, it will be useless if the students cannot understand. Therefore, normal college students should solidify their foundation, strive for more opportunities to practice their oral expression skills and all aspects of their abilities, and become a competent people's teacher.

Three Ideas for Training Normal Students

1. Basic quality cultivation

The era of knowledge economy is an era of continuous innovation and creative development. If a country or nation must have the ability to innovate, it must have a large number of innovative talents, and the cultivation of a large number of innovative talents must rely on education and teachers. Then we must first improve the professional quality of teachers.

The professional quality of a perfect teacher includes ideological and political, moral sentiment, values, professionalism, knowledge level and scientific research ability, experimental skills, innovative consciousness, psychological quality and professional image, etc. ⑤ Of course, in addition to these qualities, normal college students also need to have the ability to deal with interpersonal relationships, organizational management skills, comprehensive analysis and problem-solving abilities, and the ability to pioneer and innovate.

2． Focus on cultivating applied and creative talents

Normal colleges should actively create more practical opportunities for normal students instead of spending most of their time learning "advanced theory." While focusing on the cultivation of practical applications, we should also pay attention to the cultivation of creative abilities.

First, strengthen the mutual penetration and combination of liberal arts and sciences, instead of liberal arts students learning theoretical knowledge. Liberal arts students can choose to take courses with a strong science focus, such as logic, advanced mathematics, statistics, and information technology. In addition, take courses in your native language. However, it seems that everything is putting the cart before the horse at present, and English has become a compulsory course. In future teaching, normal students must have a good foundation in their mother tongue to make their expressions more attractive and easier for students to master.

Second, strengthen the connection between information technology and curriculum reform. Students should master basic information technology skills and even improve them further. As for the skills for normal school students, in addition to being able to make good use of PPT, Word and Excel, they should also learn some technologies, such as electronic magazine production, newspaper layout, SPSS, web page production, PS, etc., which can be used by employers. Often used.

Third, attach importance to educational courses. In the educational curriculum system of local universities in the United States, education courses occupy a larger proportion and account for one-third of the total credits. In addition to offering education and psychology, more educational courses should be offered to enrich students' horizons and improve students' skills. A teacher who knows how to teach students is an important guarantee for the country's future stable development.

Fourth, provide courses to develop creativity. In the United States, since the Massachusetts Institute of Technology launched the "The Discovery of the Creativity" course in 1984, Harvard University, the University of California, etc. have successively opened courses on creativity. Up to now, there are more than ten creativity training models around the world, and more than 40 countries are carrying out creativity development education. People often say that Chinese students have good foundation but poor practical ability. If we want to change this "immortal myth", we must have certain theoretical guidance.

3. Vigorously carry out extracurricular research activities

According to surveys, in the eyes of middle school principals, innovation ability is the most lacking ability of normal graduates; and instructors who lead students in internships also invariably regard the ability to discover and solve problems and innovation ability are placed in the top two abilities that students lack most. In response to this situation, the school should continue to strongly support students’ extracurricular research.
