Suzhou Wuzhong history

Wuzhong District, with a long history and rich humanities, is the birthplace of ancient Wu culture. About 10,000 years ago in the Paleolithic Age, Wu had ancestors. Five thousand years ago, the Neolithic Age created the advanced Liangzhu Culture. More than 3000 years ago, Taibo established the "Wu Gou" country in Wudi, which is recorded in history. Sun Wu, Zhang Xu, Yang Huizhi, Shen Shou, Fan Zhongyan, a famous politician in the Northern Song Dynasty, and Kuai Xiang, a master architect of the Ming Dynasty who presided over the construction of the Forbidden City in Beijing, all lived in Wuzhong and wrote magnificent chapters in the history of Wuzhong. 1April 27, 949, Wuxian was liberated and the cities and counties were divided. Suzhou is located in the urban and suburban areas, and Wuxian is the surrounding village. Dongshan, Xishan and Taihu Lake set up Taihu Administrative Office. 1953 In May, the Taihu Office of Sunan People's Administration was rebuilt in Zhenze County. 1959, Zhenze County was abolished and merged into Wuxian County, which was under the Suzhou Commissioner's Office (1960, the State Council approved the abolition of Zhenze County and merged into Wuxian County). After the liberation of Wuxian County, no other county or county party and government organs were stationed in Suzhou City.
