Guiyang Vocational College of Nursing was founded in June of 1939, with the initial name of "Guizhou Medical Vocational School", and was renamed as "Guiyang Advanced Medical Vocational School in Guizhou Province" in August of 194 1 year. It was merged with other medical colleges twice later, with the name of1958/kloc. In 2006, the People's Government of Guizhou Province formally approved its establishment. In June of the same year, Guiyang Vocational College of Nursing was officially put on record by the Ministry of Education, and was officially listed on March 18, 2007, recruiting higher vocational students for the whole province.

Guiyang Vocational College of Nursing is the first independent higher vocational college in Guizhou Province based on the 68-year running of Guiyang Health School, a national key secondary school, with Guiyang First People's Hospital, Jinyang Hospital and Guiyang Maternal and Child Health Hospital as affiliated hospitals, focusing on cultivating high-quality applied nursing, pharmacy, public health management, medical examination, medical beauty technology and other medical-related professionals.
