Looking at the discussion on the internet, it seems that this matter still had a big impact at that time. It's just strange that several news platforms at hand didn't push relevant information at that time. Perhaps it is because Henan has already fallen into the whirlpool of regional discrimination, and all kinds of platforms are taken seriously? After all, when an employee of a certain unit publicly stated that he would not consider recruiting people from Huangpan District, the relevant news stayed online for several days. After all, the Yellow River flood area involves many provinces, and its influence is obviously greater than that of a province in Henan.

Henan has long been the object of knights. For so long, many people don't know when this discrimination began. Some people even directly link reality with history, claiming that discrimination against Henan appeared as early as the pre-Qin period. Related issues have also been analyzed in articles before. To regard the examples of Liezi, Han Feizi and others as regional discrimination, we only look at their articles from the perspective of regional discrimination to a great extent, which may be quite different from the original intention of the philosophers.

Moreover, Henan has long been the political, economic and cultural center of the Central Plains Dynasty, and no similar attack on Henan has been found in historical records. It is obviously unrealistic to combine the current regional discrimination with ancient history. Of course, there are also some opinions that are more credible. Some netizens have roughly combed some comments they know that satirize and discredit Henan people. They believe that modern people's discrimination against Henan people is mainly related to two historical periods: first, the warlords scuffled before the founding of the People's Republic of China, the Central Plains was the main war zone, and a large number of people were displaced. Later, the Yellow River levee exploded, making millions of people victims overnight. These victims were in rags and exiled, which naturally left a bad impression on the local people; Second, after the reform and opening up, the development of the south needs a large number of laborers, and Henan has a large population and convenient transportation. Naturally, a large number of Henan people go to work in the south. Compared with local people, Henan people who work as intruders will naturally not be welcomed by local people.

Of course, these are only part of the reasons for geographical discrimination. If people can treat their compatriots with tolerance and equality, this kind of discrimination will not happen. But it is precisely because people initially look at these problems with colored glasses that regional discrimination will intensify.

For example, many southerners can't accurately distinguish the northern accent, so migrant workers from the north are generally called Henan people. Therefore, Henan people inexplicably carry a lot of names. Some media often deliberately highlight certain labels when reporting news events, and the label "Henan" is one of them. Therefore, the image of Henan presented to everyone through the news is naturally affected. However, many people fabricate jokes for various purposes, further discrediting the image of Henan. Coupled with some people intentionally or unintentionally following the trend, regional discrimination has almost become a normal state.

Some people think that discrimination in Henan is related to its own economic development. Even in the eyes of many people, Henan is a poor place. Some netizens explained the phenomenon of regional discrimination by "knowing the courtesy from the warehouse", arguing that the economic situation in many places in Henan is not good, so people who come out there naturally have the problem of obeying the law. When the economic situation is good, regional discrimination will naturally disappear. At first glance, this view seems to have some truth: the place where Henan people are discredited is more or less linked to the economic situation. However, a closer look at this view always feels wrong. Can we only silently bear this unprovoked smear? As mentioned above, many remarks circulating in the market are groundless slander. Since it's not your own fault, why do you have to keep carrying this stigma?

The causes of regional discrimination are very complicated, far from being changed by the discriminated party through hard work. If these phenomena are explained by "knowing the courtesy from the warehouse", then regional discrimination itself should not appear: people in rich areas will not discriminate against others, and people in poor areas may not have the heart to discriminate against themselves, and with the economic development, this discrimination should gradually disappear. However, looking at reality, it is the opposite. Regional discrimination has not only not decreased, but even begun to directly affect people's lives. In the past, all kinds of geographical discrimination were just tools used by some people to attack others online. Now geographical discrimination is directly applied to recruitment. It will be applied to even more places in the future.
