I have read many articles about parenting education at school, and learned that many parents have patiently educated and carefully guided their children, and then look at the mothers who take care of their children in every possible way. I am deeply ashamed. Perhaps because I am an enterprising teacher, I put more energy into my students, so I don't care about my two children, and I don't have the patience to tutor them in my studies.

When it comes to not helping two children study, some people may not believe it. Most people think that teachers should have more energy and patience to help children. But I'm telling the truth. When the two children went to primary school, they had little homework and no review materials such as classroom exercises, synchronous guidance and core papers. Most of the homework assigned by the teacher is simply designed according to the teaching content of the day. Chinese homework is mostly reciting and copying words, while math homework is mostly simple calculation problems. In short, the homework questions given by the teacher are relatively simple, and both children can finish it independently, so they never ask my homework, they don't ask, and I don't take the initiative not to tutor.

After graduating from primary school, both children were admitted to the county ethnic middle school. My son entered junior high school in the autumn of 2003. After graduating from junior high school, my son was admitted to Lincang No.1 Middle School. I have never visited my son in Lincang No.1 Middle School for three years. At that time, I didn't know where No.1 Middle School was. After graduating from high school, my son was admitted to Wenshan College, majoring in modern Chinese language and literature.

Every time I think of my son going to college, I feel even more sorry for him. The place where my son goes to college is more than 600 kilometers away from us/kloc-0. At that time, we had no airport here. My son first took a sleeper from our county to Kunming, and then took a sleeper to Wenshan Prefecture, Kunming, with a journey of 1600 kilometers. My wife and I have never seen him off or visited him for four years in college. We only give him 700 yuan for living expenses every month.

After graduating from junior high school, my daughter was successfully admitted to Lincang No.1 Middle School. At that time, the transportation was very convenient, but my wife and I seldom went to school to visit our daughter. The most cruel thing is that I once went to the city to attend a week's training for key teachers. Our training place is not far from my daughter's school, but I still didn't visit her or call her to tell her that I was in the city for training.

After graduating from high school, my daughter was admitted to Kunming Medical University, majoring in clinical medicine. I went to see her off when I was a freshman for five years. After that, I never went to see her at school until she graduated.

A female colleague in our school often jokes with me: "You are too hard on children and don't care about them at all. If I were your child, I would not recognize you as a mother. " She also told me how she treats her children well. She visits her children at least twice a year, and every time she visits her children at school, she buys them a lot of delicious food.

Compared with other mothers, I'm really not a competent mother. I didn't do my duty as a mother. My two children should really hate me as the female colleague said, and they should not even admit that I am an incompetent mother. But the two children didn't blame me for it. They study very hard. When my son was in junior high school, his academic performance was among the best in our school. When I was in the second grade, I was also recommended by the school to go to Shanghai to participate in hand-in-hand mutual assistance activities. After graduating from college, my son ranked first in the exam of recruiting new teachers in our county, in the position he applied for-Shanmou Middle School. Since then, my son has become a Chinese teacher in Jiadan Middle School.

My daughter studies very hard, and her academic performance in junior high school has been in the top five in the same grade in the county. After graduating from junior high school, the leaders of the county ethnic middle school mobilized her to stay in our school to attend senior high school, and the leaders of City No.1 Middle School also came to our home many times to mobilize her to attend senior high school in City No.1 Middle School, and promised to give her 300 yuan living expenses every month. Finally, her daughter chose to study in City No.1 Middle School. After her daughter graduated from college, she also scored among the best in the examination for recruiting doctors in the county health department. At present, she is an obstetrician in the county hospital.

Now, although both children have stable jobs, I still feel guilty about them. I have been blaming myself: if I can help my two children study more in primary school, if my wife and I visit them more in their junior high school and high school, buy them more delicious food, or give them more pocket money, or buy them a decent birthday cake on their birthdays (I have never bought them a birthday cake), will they study harder, be admitted to a better university and find a job?
