Guiyang No.21 Middle School, with a history of nearly 100 years, is named after "provincial model middle school", "provincial Guiyang No.1 Middle School" and "Guiyang Middle School", which is the earliest school to introduce the name of "middle school" in Guiyang's educational history. After liberation, it was renamed Guiyang No.2 Middle School (old Guiyang people used to call it "No.2 Middle School" to distinguish it from later Guiyang No.2 Middle School). 1963, the school was renamed Guiyang No.21 Middle School.
