Introduction to the movie Midnight in Barcelona

The story takes place in the beautiful Barcelona. American girls Vicki (played by Rebecca Hall) and Christina (played by Scarlett Johansson) met on vacation. The wonderful artist Juan (Javier Bardem). After the two sisters with very different personalities met Juan for the second time, the enthusiastic Cristina readily agreed to Juan's invitation to spend the weekend in Oviedo, but Vicky, who was about to get married, felt... Deeply disturbed.

An unexpected thing happened in Oviedo. Cristina, who was supposed to have a one-night stand with Juan, was lying in bed to rest due to illness, while Vicky, who was sensible and realistic, had a romantic night with Juan.

When the three returned to Barcelona again, Vicky's fiancé Doug came to accompany her, and Vicky's life seemed to be peaceful. And when Cristina began to fall in love and live together with Juan, Juan's ex-wife Maria (Penelope Cruz) suddenly appeared, and a strange relationship was established between the three people. So in a famous European city full of romance in midsummer, a humorous and profound story about love begins.

At the 81st Oscars in 2009, Penélope Cruz won the Best Supporting Actress Award for this film.
