Zhongyuan technical school was renamed as a university.

Zhongyuan Institute of Technology was officially renamed Henan Institute of Technology.

Zhongyuan Institute of Technology, formerly known as Zhengzhou Institute of Textile Technology, is an ordinary undergraduate college that enrolls students nationwide, the second batch of demonstration universities in China to deepen the reform of innovation and entrepreneurship education, a member of the Sino-Russian Jiaotong University Alliance, and the chairman of the Henan University Transportation Education Alliance. The school was founded in 1955, originally under the Ministry of Textile Industry of People's Republic of China (PRC) (China), and was handed over to the management of Henan Province in 1998.

The school, formerly known as Yuci Textile Machinery Industry School, moved to Zhengzhou on 1957 and was renamed Zhengzhou Textile Machinery Manufacturing School. 1960 was renamed Zhengzhou Textile Machinery Institute, and 1987 was upgraded to Zhengzhou Textile Vocational and Technical College. In 2000, it was named Zhongyuan Institute of Technology.

The school is the construction unit of the doctoral degree awarding project in Henan Province, with master's degree authorization points 1 1 for first-class disciplines, 53 master's degree authorization points in two disciplines and 7 master's degree authorization categories. By the end of June 2065438+2009, the school was divided into three teaching areas, namely Southern District, Northern District and Western District, covering an area of 16 10 mu, with a building area of 847,400 square meters and a total value of teaching and research instruments and equipment of 575 million yuan.

At present, there are 20 teaching departments, offering 63 undergraduate majors, with master's degree authorization points 1 1 for first-level disciplines, master's degree authorization categories 1 1 and 886 faculty members1,including more than 24,000 full-time junior college students, undergraduates, graduate students and international students.
