Xiuzhou District, Jiaxing City "made a move" to narrow the income gap between urban and rural teachers

At the symposium on "Looking Back" proposed by Xiuzhou District People's Congress and proposed by CPPCC members, a livelihood issue about "improving teachers' treatment and narrowing the income gap between urban and rural teachers" attracted the attention and heated discussion of delegates and members.

According to Yun, deputy director of Xiuzhou District Education, Culture and Sports Bureau, before 2006, the income of urban and rural teachers in Xiuzhou District was very uneven. Taking teaching achievement awards, assessment awards and holiday benefits as examples, the average annual bonus income of urban teachers is about 6.5438+0.6 million yuan, while that of rural teachers is less than 6.5438+0.6 million yuan. Why is there such a gap? Yun said that in the past, teachers' salaries were paid by the district finance, and the rest of the bonuses were paid by towns and streets themselves. Due to economic conditions and other factors, the income gap between rural teachers and urban teachers is very obvious. Last year, Xiuzhou District began to implement the reform of rural compulsory education management system. According to the relevant regulations, from 2007, all the income of urban and rural teachers will be "paid" by the district finance, so as to gradually narrow the gap between urban and rural areas and make it clear that the bonus standard for urban and rural teachers will be unified by 2009. This year, Xiuzhou District also issued a document on housing subsidies for rural teachers, explicitly requiring all towns and streets to cash in the housing subsidies for all retired rural teachers before the end of the year. At present, Wangdian Town and Wang Jiang Jingzhen Town have taken the lead in solving this problem, and other towns and streets have also issued "military orders". More than 600 retired rural teachers in the whole region will receive one-time housing subsidies this year.

At noon yesterday, the reporter connected Ni Genrong, the principal of experimental primary school in Youchegang Town. According to him, after the teachers' bonus income was "paid" by the district finance, the teachers in the school felt that their income was more secure than before. "Although the bonus income cannot be the same as that of urban teachers immediately, it is gradually improving." He said that rural teachers are particularly happy that since June 5438+ 10 this year, each teacher can receive a monthly teaching allowance ranging from 60 yuan to 400 yuan according to his technical title and working years, and the allowance in the first half of this year has been fully paid in one lump sum.

Yun said that to retain rural teachers, especially backbone teachers, it is one thing to improve teachers' treatment, but it is more important to care about their work and life. Considering that some rural teachers live in urban areas, it is inconvenient to commute to work. Township primary and secondary schools contact transportation companies and drive school buses to pick up teachers every morning and evening. Take Youchegang Town Experimental Primary School as an example. The school hired a minibus to take more than a dozen teachers to and from work every day, including teachers in remote villages. At present, except Zhao Gao Street, all primary and secondary schools in other towns and streets are equipped with school buses. In addition, starting from this year, every teacher in this district will be equipped with a computer to facilitate their work, and it is planned to install air conditioning in every office. Some schools are still rebuilding canteens to provide better logistical support for teachers.
