Jiaozuo, Henan: A private teacher worked hard to write folk stories.

Huang, a 53-year-old rural teacher, included all 330 folk stories and 280 images in The Selection of Jiayingguan Folk Stories.

Hejing Village, Zhandian Town, Jiaozuo City is located 22 miles southeast of Wuzhi County, separated from Mangshan River in Zhengzhou City. Here, the Yellow River has fertile soil, natural beauty and rich folk stories. Yellow River Willow, who lives here, has been obsessed with finding and sorting out folk stories. Thirty years have passed, and now he has collected more than 300 folk stories and more than 400,000 words of written materials.

"Today, locals can also call it' old turtle'. Become an adult sperm for a year and steal watermelon seeds in the watermelon field of Lao Zhang's family in Nanzhuang Village. It's not, there is a mark the size of melon seeds on the edge of the mouth ... "

1986, Huang and his friends, who had not participated in the teacher's work, came to Jiayingguan to play, and came across an old man holding a big stone tablet telling the mysterious legend of this monster. According to the clues provided by their elders, Yellow River Willow and friends went to Daozuopu Village, 3 miles southeast to collect materials. As a result, they came back in vain. A few days later, Yellow River Willow rode a bicycle to visit the old people in the village. This time, she was turned away, and went to the Dang Ge store to visit the market with the old people. A few days later, riding Huang's bike came to the old people again. After waiting for more than an hour, he finally returned to Sizhutang, known as the "king of gossip", and came back from the Yellow River Beach to deliver meals to his son. Looking around the thatched cottage, a legend with some bizarre results was finally revealed in words: Lao Zhang of Nanxiaozhuang planted several acres of watermelons on the river beach, and specially selected eight good watermelon varieties for a better harvest in the coming year. Unexpectedly, one morning, he found that the watermelon seeds were gone. So, the next night, he climbed up the river bank and looked at Gua Tian from a distance. On duty for the second time, he found a white veteran sneaking into Gua Tian ... He chased the gate of Jiayingguan in one breath, and later found a watermelon seed in the corner of the northeast corner of nave. ...

This is just a microcosm of the story of the Yellow River looking for willows. There are more than 300 stories, each of which is so difficult. "Some are met by chance on the road. When listening to people, there is no paper and pencil record at all. You can only use your own brain to remember and sort it out immediately after you go back. " Huang said, "Sometimes, in order to get the details in the story right, I will say hello to several people." These habits also give the yellow river willow an excellent memory. The dark and healthy complexion is also a by-product of his long-term field search.

To sort out folk stories, the Yellow River Willow started at 1986, which is exactly 30 years this year. "When I was a child, I liked listening to stories. In the early 1980s, the state launched a three-in-one work of collecting and sorting out folk literature. In this way, I began to participate in this activity and began to collect and sort out folk stories on a large scale. " Huang Heliu recalled. In order to collect more stories, Huang rode 140 miles every day and traveled to nearly 80 villages in the local river basin. He is almost obsessed with collecting folk stories. "Tell them a story every day and don't repeat it for a year." Huang said with a smile that this made his students feel blessed and mobilized their enthusiasm for writing.

However, the fire accident at 1994 almost made the Yellow River kneel down. "It rained for more than ten days in a row, causing the wires to short-circuit and catch fire. It is not only my two cabinets of books that are burned, but also the story collection that I have worked hard to compile. " What makes Huang sad most is, "I found the narrator at that time for most stories, but some of the narrators have passed away and taken away stories that only they know." After 20 years' efforts, Huang collected more than 330 folk stories, more than 240 ballads and proverbs, 20 pictures and images 120, and more than 400,000 words of written materials, which once again enriched his treasure house of folk stories.

This is a remote village, this is an ordinary farm yard, where Yellow River Willow lives.

Pomegranate, Chinese rose, iris and all kinds of vegetables are planted in the farmhouse yard, but there are not many decent home appliances and furniture, because the Yellow River willow has spent a lot of savings to sort out the information. Go back to school on Sunday afternoon, go home on Friday afternoon, make up lessons for students on Saturday, help students with their homework in summer vacation, and sell new year's goods in the market in winter vacation. While working conscientiously, he is busy and has a hard life. It's past night 10. He's not asleep yet. He continued to write books and organize materials. This life has been going on for a long time. Because of his sporadic income, he can supplement some of the expenses spent on collecting stories.

"There are very few people sorting out folk literature now. You must find this way. No matter whether you go well or not, you have to go on! " He said that he would continue to collect it like this as long as his body allowed.

When the car crossed the Yellow River Bridge, the mobile phone suddenly popped up. Huang Liu called to inform him that his beloved Selected Stories of Jiayingguan will be published by China Geographical and Environmental Science Press. Congratulations on his success.
