Reflections on the study of traditional Chinese medicine in colleges and universities

The basic skill of studying medicine is mainly endorsement, especially Chinese medicine. It also uses some logical thinking, but it is easier to understand. It mainly embodies ancient naive materialism's philosophical thoughts.

It is difficult to recite, but as long as you are willing to endure hardships, you can still remember it after spending a lot of time.

The main courses of TCM major are: basic theory of TCM, TCM diagnostics, TCM prescription, TCM internal medicine, TCM surgery, TCM gynecology, TCM pediatrics, ancient medical literature, Neijing, febrile diseases, synopsis of the golden chamber, acupuncture and so on.

Western medicine also has some specialized courses, such as internal medicine, surgery, physiology, biochemistry, pathology, human anatomy, tissue embryo and so on. We should also learn some basic public courses, such as politics and English.

Employment is not optimistic. It is reported that the employment rate of the College of Traditional Chinese Medicine is only 10%. Although it is not necessarily true, the employment of Chinese medicine is far less than that of western medicine.

Medical, preventive and health care institutions rarely recruit graduates majoring in Chinese medicine. Not only do medical institutions not pay attention to it, but patients' willingness to choose Chinese medicine is far less than that of western medicine. People who look at Chinese medicine are often people who are not optimistic about Western medicine or who are not recommended by Western medicine.

The employment of studying Chinese medicine is narrow, which brings poor benefits to the hospital, so the treatment is also low. Many Chinese medicine graduates have changed careers, such as claims doctors, medical representatives or positions unrelated to medicine. Some graduates of Chinese medicine have taken up the post of western medicine, but sometimes they will bring unnecessary trouble because they have obtained the qualification certificate of Chinese medicine practitioners.

Even in traditional Chinese medicine hospitals, the recruitment requirements are mostly western medicine, because western medicine is widely used in traditional Chinese medicine hospitals now. Just look at the health professionals online.

Since there is strength, I suggest careful consideration. After all, it's a lifetime thing.
