Why was Yangquan Railway Station built in Yuxian County?

Yangquan Railway Station was built in Yuxian County for technical and cost considerations, including urban planning factors. According to the overall planning spirit of the municipal government to build "Oriental Ruhr District", the municipal government has done a lot of work on the site selection of Yangquan North Station, and finally chose the latter between Pingding County and Yuxian County.

Because of the establishment of Yangquan North Station, some trains in Yangquan Station were cancelled and changed to North Station on April 1 2009. Yangquan North Station was named by CCTV because Yangquan North Station is too far away from the urban area, and it is not convenient for people in the urban area to travel by train.

The process of building Yuxian Railway Station: In 2002, the economy recovered, coal transportation was tight, and there was an impulse to expand the capacity of stone platform on the railway. Therefore, Shijiazhuang-Taiyuan Passenger Dedicated Line was launched and began to choose routes, first appeasement scheme, Yangquan scheme, then Yuxian scheme as a supplement, and finally Yuxian scheme was selected.

After the planning of Yuxian county was clear, the railway arrived in Yuxian county, which meant giving up the passenger transport of Yangquan railway, so the 800-square-meter Yuxian station was let out. In 2007, the Municipal Party Committee put forward the concept of integrated development of urban and rural areas in Yangquan, and Yuxian is also a part of Yangquan.
