The company was formerly known as the state-owned Jinchuan Radio Equipment Factory (No.1 Military Industry Factory). : State-owned 899 Factory), founded in 1965, was the national "third line" key construction unit at that time. It belongs to Fourth Ministry of machinery industry, and was placed under local management after 1984. 1996, the enterprise was listed in the first batch of pilot enterprises of modern enterprise system in Sichuan province, and later transformed into Sichuan Jinchuan electronic equipment co., ltd, a wholly state-owned enterprise. In 2002, the company implemented "debt-to-equity swap" according to the national policy, and was restructured into Yibin Jinchuan Electronics Co., Ltd., with dual state-owned shareholders, namely China Huarong Asset Management Company (76.72%) and Yibin State-owned Asset Management Co., Ltd. (23.28%).

As a civil-oriented, military-civilian enterprise, after more than 40 years of construction and development, the company has developed from two production lines, 1 research institute and assets of 5.6 million yuan to a professional manufacturer of magnetic materials with nine production lines, including permanent ferrite powder and components, soft ferrite components, devices, microwave devices, rare earth permanent magnet components, bonded permanent magnet components, special equipment and molds, with total assets of 220 million yuan. Over the past 40 years, the company's permanent magnet and soft magnetic production lines have undergone three technical transformations introduced by the state, ministries, provinces and ministerial levels. The products have been localized in home appliances such as tape recorders, color TVs, refrigerators, computers, etc., and have been matched with motors for motorcycles, automobiles and industrial automatic control. They have won the title of national excellent, ministerial-level excellent and national new products for many times, and 38 key scientific research achievements have won national or provincial-level scientific and technological progress awards. It has initially formed three major products, namely, permanent ferrite components and soft ferrite components. It has a number of world-renowned customer groups, such as Shenzhen Huawei, Sichuan Changhong and Shanghai Daily Chemical-You Jie Electric, and its products are exported to more than ten countries and regions such as the United States, Europe and Taiwan Province Province. In military scientific research and production, we have three production lines of microwave, rare earth and soft magnetic devices, which have been supporting 37 national key projects such as satellites, missiles, airplanes, ships and shenzhou spaceship in China. It has been commended by the Commission of Science, Technology and Industry for National Defense and the General Armament Department for many times, and awarded the honorary title of "National Advanced Unit for Scientific Research and Production of Military Electronic Basic Components" by the Commission of Science, Technology and Industry for National Defense.

As one of the four designated manufacturers of magnetic materials in the former Ministry of Industry and Information Technology with a long history, the company had a strong brand, scale, talents and technical advantages before the middle and late 1990s.
