Environmental Impact of Wendeng Pumped Storage Power Station in Shandong Province

The environmental benefits are remarkable.

(3) During the construction period, local labor resources can be greatly utilized, personal income can be increased, consumption level can be improved, and local economic development can be promoted. Local taxes can also be increased during the construction and operation of power stations, which has a positive role in promoting economic development.

(4) Building permanent roads can improve local traffic conditions; After the completion of the power station, the upper and lower reservoirs and underground workshops can be developed into industrial tourist attractions, which can be jointly developed with other scenic spots around the power station and Shengjing Mountain scenic spots to promote the development of local tourism. (1) During the construction of the project, wastewater and waste gas will have different impacts on the surrounding environment. However, the treatment and reuse of production wastewater and domestic sewage during construction period has little effect on surface water quality and water use; The dust around the construction site and some construction roads has a certain impact on the atmospheric environment; The increase of noise sources has a certain adverse impact on the production and life of surrounding residents; Construction waste residue and domestic garbage will be treated in a standardized way, which will basically have no adverse impact on the surrounding environment.

(2) The construction and operation of the project will partially change the groundwater environment in the project area and have a certain impact on some groundwater environments in the project area.

(3) Although the project construction has a certain impact on local vegetation, it has little impact on the overall ecological environment. The project construction will not change the local vegetation types, will not cause the disappearance of plant species, and will not have long-term adverse effects on the local ecosystem.

(4) The project is affected by reservoir inundation and occupation of construction land. According to the preliminary investigation, 240 people need to be relocated, and the production resettlement population is 147 people. Judging from the number and mode of resettlement, resettlement has little impact on social environment and ecological environment.
