What material is PTFE?

Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE for short), commonly known as "the king of plastics", is a kind of polymer polymerized with tetrafluoroethylene as monomer. White waxy, translucent, heat-resistant and cold-resistant, and can be used for a long time at-180 ~ 260C.

This material has the characteristics of acid resistance, alkali resistance and resistance to various organic solvents, and is almost insoluble in all solvents. At the same time, PTFE has the characteristics of high temperature resistance and very low friction coefficient, which can be used for lubrication and become an ideal coating for easy cleaning of water pipes.

Application of PTFE

1, used in electrical industry, in aerospace, aviation, electronics, instrumentation, computer and other industries. Corrosion-resistant and wear-resistant materials used as insulation layer, power supply and signal line can be used to make films, tubesheets, bearings, gaskets, valves, chemical pipelines, pipe fittings, equipment container linings, etc.

2, used in electrical appliances, chemical industry, aviation, machinery and other fields to replace timely glassware. Used for ultra-pure chemical analysis and storage of various acids, bases and organic solvents in atomic energy, medicine and semiconductor industries.

3. Used as filler of epoxy resin to improve the wear resistance, heat resistance and corrosion resistance of epoxy adhesive.

4. Mainly used as binder and filler for powder cake.
