Expressway traffic rules:

Overtaking (also called climbing head in Hong Kong): Overtaking should only comply with the law (countries driving on the left can only overtake on the right, and countries driving on the right can only overtake on the left). But in some places, it is allowed to "pass" on the right (or left) instead of overtaking in traffic jams.

Driving: You can only drive in the main lane (in the overtaking lane if necessary). Shoulder, ramp and emergency parking bay are not allowed to drive. However, due to the need of traffic relief, expressway, Taiwan Province Province will open the shoulder to drivers at a fixed time and at a specific section to temporarily solve the problem of insufficient road capacity.

Parking: Parking in overtaking lanes and driveways is not allowed. Parking on the roadside (in the emergency lane) is only allowed in case of vehicle failure or other accidents. Emergency signs should be placed after parking to warn other vehicles to pay attention to safety.

Speed: It is illegal to go below the minimum speed limit and overspeed (so-called "racing"). Especially speeding, there will be relatively expensive fines, and even the driver's license will be detained or revoked.
