First place: Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), located in Cambridge, Boston, Massachusetts, USA, is a world-famous private research university with its main campus on the Charles River.
Massachusetts Institute of Technology was founded in 186 1, and its early days were mainly applied science and engineering. After World War II, Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) rose rapidly depending on the research and development demand of American defense technology.
During World War II and the Cold War, MIT researchers made great contributions to the development of science and technology such as computers, radars and inertial navigation systems.
The World University Ranking Center has published the only academic ranking of universities in the world, which does not rely on surveys and submission of university data, but only evaluates education quality, alumni employment, teacher quality and research performance.
CWUR uses seven objective and powerful indicators, which are divided into four areas to rank world universities: 1) Education quality: measure the number of alumni who have won major academic honors related to university size; 2) Alumni employment rate: measured by the number of university alumni who hold senior management positions in the world's largest company and the size of the university; 3) Teacher quality: measured by the number of teachers who have won major academic honors; 4) Research achievements: i) Research output: measured by the total number of research papers; Ii) High. Quality publications: measured by the number of research papers published in top journals; iii) influence: measured by the number of research papers published in high-impact journals; iv) citation: measured by the number of highly cited research papers, the performance of American universities is still outstanding, with 8 Chinese and American universities ranking at 10, and 10 at Harvard University.

Highlights of the list
The performance of American universities is still bright. The top 8 American universities in 10, and the front row of 10 is named:
1, Harvard University
To be clear, the same stalls are sorted by English abbreviations, so 5-8 Huake seems to be the sixth, but it is actually the eighth. In addition, this ranking has no subjective indicators of social reputation, and it is all objective indicators, focusing on scientific research. Of course, Huake ranks first, which is reasonable.
If we look at the reserve of young talents such as Jie Qing and You Qing, and look at hard indicators such as natural science funds, Huake has a strong momentum.
For those who don't approve, we should first think modestly about why Huake is in the front, instead of spraying without thinking.
I am Boya Yanyuan, and I will answer.
On August 5th, academic ranking of world universities released version 202 1. Different from the past, the total number of published lists has increased from 500 universities to 1000, and China University has achieved very good results.
As we know, ARWU is the only domestic list among the four most authoritative international rankings, which is highly recognized internationally, and its ranking indicators often focus on academic strength. Therefore, in this list, universities with good records in quantity and quality of papers tend to perform better.
Judging from the latest ARWU list, the overall performance of mainland universities is very good, but the ranking of many famous schools is not far from everyone's imagination.
Some schools rank unexpectedly high, such as Huazhong University of Science and Technology, with the world ranking 150, and Chinese mainland is on the list.
Sixth, it surpassed Nanjing University and Harbin Institute of Technology, such as Central South University, and ranked in the top 200 in the world and the top 200 in the mainland.
10, which also surpassed NTU and Harbin Institute of Technology; Some schools rank unexpectedly low, such as the more recognized central schools.
Wuhan university, the first university.
, only ranked in mainland universities.
16, which is also recognized as the first in the west, ranks only.
17, their grades are obviously not as good as those of huake and central south university.
In fact, the rankings of mainland universities shown in the list are still controversial in many places.
For example, the performance of the top five schools in East China, except Peking University and Tsinghua, is obviously different this time. In addition to Zhejiang University, Shanghai Jiaotong University and Fudan University, they are still close to Tsinghua Peking University. The ranking of Chinese University of Science and Technology has been surpassed by Huake and Sun Yat-sen University, and Nanjing University has even been surpassed by a series of famous schools, even falling out of the top 10.
These are quite different from many people's impressions of these universities, which will inevitably cause controversy.
Analysis of the reasons for this "discrepancy" is actually mainly the indicators of the list.
Among ARWU's indicators, the three most critical indicators are the number of highly cited scholars, the number of papers published in famous journals of Nature and Science, and the number of papers collected by SCIE and SSCI. To put it bluntly, these indicators are the scientific research achievements recognized by peers in the field and internationally among universities, and those with good performance rank high. In fact, it is not the comprehensive balance of a university, nor can it absolutely measure its status.
At the same time, the definition of these indicators will also give universities with strong science and engineering more opportunities to perform better, because science and engineering fields have more opportunities to publish papers than humanities and social sciences fields, and it is easier to "go abroad" and get international recognition.
As long as these key issues are clarified, Zhejiang University, Huake University, Central South University and other universities have performed well, while comprehensive universities such as Fudan University, Nanda University and Wuda University have suffered relatively, which is not difficult to understand, mainly as follows: 1, these universities are all universities with strong science and engineering, and it is relatively easy to produce results; 2. The scale is large, the scale of postgraduate training and tutors is large, and the number of papers will have a better chance to make a breakthrough; At present, they do have more scientific research achievements recognized by their peers and internationally.
Therefore, although ARWU's ranking of mainland universities is quite different from that of many people, it is actually quite understandable.
Of course, it is a good ranking, but it only reflects part of the characteristics of a university and cannot fully and accurately show all aspects of a university.
It is naturally gratifying that Zhejiang University, China University of Science and Technology and Central South University can achieve good rankings, but this will not obliterate the status and influence of Fudan University, Nanda University and Wuda University in mainland universities.
No matter how authoritative the university rankings are, they are only suitable for reference.
What do you think of this?
There are four authoritative university rankings in the world, namely Qs, Times, USnews and Soft Science, and the World University Ranking of Soft Science is the only authoritative ranking published in China.
In 20021Chinese mainland university soft science ranking, the top 20 universities are as follows:
First Tsinghua, second Peking University and third Zhejiang University.
Followed by 4, 5, 5, 6, 7, 7, 8, 7, 8, 7, 7, 7, 7, 7, 7, 7, 7, 7, 7, 7, 7, 7 is only an interval data, and the final ranking of universities is independent, as shown in the attached table 1.
Huake nationality
Eighth, the national ranking of Xi Jiaotong University is 1 1, and the ranking of Wu Da University is 16. This ranking is reasonable, with 9,400 students from Huake University and 6,900 students from Xi Jiao Tong University. There is a gap between the two universities as shown in Table 2.
The number of researchers in Wuhan University has actually reached 1 1 000, which is obviously a big but not strong giant.
Generally speaking, the soft science list takes into account the size and academic strength of universities, which is much more credible than the garbage ranking of Wu Shulian Alumni Association.
Zhongshan and Huake, which are large in scale and strong in strength, rank first, Wu Da, which is large in scale but average in strength, ranks second, and Jiao Su, Southeast and University of Electronic Science and Technology of China, which are small in scale but strong, rank first.
Generally, when studying abroad or recruiting in a foreign company, you will also refer to ARWU of the Department of Soft Science.
But what I don't understand is that the famous universities in China, such as Beihang University, Tongji University, Nankai University and Beili University, all fell out of the top 20, which may be because the total number of papers is average.
On the one hand, the list of soft subjects is not conducive to comprehensive universities, on the other hand, the biggest problem is that it is too biased towards scale and volume, and only discusses the total amount without considering the quality factor at all, which is obviously beneficial to giant schools, which is obviously not objective.
Under such an evaluation system, a small but sophisticated school like Nantah is bound to suffer. It is foreseeable that this is not a year or two but a long-term problem.
For example, this list ranges from 20 15 to 202 1. Sun Yat-sen University has always been far ahead of Nantah, which is obviously not in line with the facts, while Nantah is obviously above Zhongshan in academic level.
Therefore, it is an indisputable fact that there are major defects in the evaluation system of academic rankings of universities in the soft science world, and the results selected in this way are obviously not trustworthy.
Here are some comparisons between Nantah and Zhongshan.
Wu Da is getting behind Huake. From last year, Hubei's admission line fell behind 1 minute to 19 by 6 points. The gap is widening.
In the primary election of academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences just released this year, the number of Jie Qing and You Qing lags behind that of Huake.
Now Wu Da can only talk about school history, campus, school flower, debate team and Lei Jun in front of Huake.
However, it will be "Huada" and "Wuer" in the future. ?
