Brief introduction of Jiangxi Meteorological Bureau

Jiangxi Meteorological Bureau was established in 1954. The meteorological department of Jiangxi province implements the management leadership system of dual leadership and is the working department of the people's government at the same level. Mainly responsible for the guidance, supervision and industry management functions of meteorological activities within their respective administrative areas; Responsible for formulating local meteorological development plans and plans, and organizing their implementation; Responsible for the feasibility demonstration of the utilization, protection and popularization of climate resources to the people's government at the same level and the relevant departments at the same level; Responsible for organizing and managing the collection and release of meteorological observation data within their respective administrative areas; To provide decision-making basis for the people's government at the same level to organize meteorological disaster prevention; Formulate plans for weather modification operations, and manage, guide and organize the implementation of weather modification operations under the leadership and coordination of the people's governments at the corresponding levels; Organize and manage the lightning disaster prevention work, and guide the detection of lightning protection devices in conjunction with relevant departments.

Jiangxi Meteorological Bureau has 7 functional offices, including directly under the authority Party Committee Office (Office of Spiritual Civilization Construction), Retired Cadres Office, Provincial Meteorological Society Secretariat, 8 directly affiliated institutions, and1/districts and cities meteorological bureaus and 80 county (city) meteorological bureaus, with a total of 770 employees and 765 retirees.

Meteorology is a basic social welfare undertaking based on science and technology. In the early days of the establishment of the Bureau, the older generation of meteorologists carried forward the spirit of hard work and entrepreneurship, and in just a few years, they built a network of meteorological observation stations and meteorological institutions at all levels in the province, realizing the first leap in the history of meteorological development in Jiangxi.

Since the implementation of target management assessment by China Meteorological Bureau, the Provincial Meteorological Bureau has been an excellent unit for target assessment by meteorological departments all over the country. The meteorological department of the province has become a "provincial civilized industry" and all of them have become "civilized units". The Provincial Meteorological Bureau and Jinggangshan Meteorological Bureau were rated as the first batch of national civilized units, and the provincial bureau was awarded the first and second provincial "Top Ten Civilized Organs".
