G2 16 National Highway Starting and Ending Point

National Highway 2 16 starts from Altay, Xinjiang, passes through Beitun, Qitai and Urumqi, crosses Tianshan Mountain to Shengli Daban, and ends in Baluntai Town, Hejing County, Xinjiang, with a total length of 857 kilometers.

It passes through Junggar Basin, Gurbantunggut Desert, the second largest desert in China, and passes through Yamakaji, Cai Wu Bay, Kalamaili Nature Reserve, Maye's hometown, and the famous Irtysh River, the only international river that flows into the Arctic Ocean from east to west. Introduction of national highway 2 16: China national highway 2 16 (or "national highway 2 16" and "G2 16") is the national highway in Altay, Xinjiang, with a total length of 857 kilometers, also known as the old national highway 2 16.

New regulations: In the national highway network planning (20 13-2030), both ends extend to Hongshanzui Port in Xinjiang (Altay region)-Altay (government residence)-Korla-luntai county-Minfeng County-Tibet Gaize County-Jilong Port. The central part is the second line (east line) of the new Tibet Highway.

In Korla-Minfeng County, in addition to the luntai county route, in 20 17, Yuli County-Qiemo County Highway (with a total length of more than 330 kilometers, it is the third north-south desert highway in Tarim) formed the second route of National Highway 2 16 in Tarim Basin.
