About the organization of Children’s Villages International
The International SOS Children's Villages Organization is an international non-governmental charity organization founded in 1949 and headquartered in Vienna, the capital of Austria. Currently, there are 452 SOS Children's Villages in 132 countries and regions in the world. There are 348 SOS youth villages, 267 kindergartens, 182 schools of various types, 121 vocational training centers, and 257 social centers. There are more than 689,900 orphans living and studying in various welfare facilities such as SOS Children's Village.
The first chairman of International SOS Children’s Villages was Mr. HERMANN GMEINER, the founder of SOS Children’s Villages and an Austrian medical doctor. He founded the world's first children's village in Austria and then expanded this business around the world. After the death of Mr. Gemainar, HELMUT KUTIN succeeded as chairman.
The mission of SOS Children's Village is to rescue orphans, adopt healthy orphans who have lost their parents in the society and have no relatives or friends to support them, and manage them as a family. Each children's village has more than ten families. Each family has eight or nine orphans of different genders under the age of fourteen. A single woman with no biological children is recruited to serve as the "mother" and is responsible for managing the family so that the orphans can regain their independence. Motherly love and the warmth of family. When the male orphan reaches the age of 14, he leaves the SOS Children's Village family and enters the SOS Youth Apartment to live in a collective.

In October 1941, Helmut Kutin Born in Italy into a family of lawyers. His mother died when he was young, and his father lost his nationality and the family broke up. In 1953, he was sent to the SOS Children's Village in Imster, Austria.
In 1963, after graduating from the Teacher Training College, Helmut Kutin entered the University of Innsbruck to study economics.
In 1967, Helmut Kutinqiu joined the International SOS Children's Villages and was sent to Asia to develop SOS Children's Villages and two SOS youth apartments, and served as the largest children's village in the world - —Head of SOS Children’s Village in Sai Kung. Thanks to his pioneering efforts, in less than ten years, 50 SOS children's villages and 50 welfare facilities including SOS youth apartments, kindergartens, and social centers have been established in 12 Asian countries. Due to his outstanding work performance, he was appointed as the deputy secretary-general of the International SOS Children's Villages organization, presiding over the work in the Asian region.
In 1985, Helmut Kutin was elected Chairman of International SOS Children's Villages by the International SOS Children's Villages World Congress.
