Lacquer painting, as its name implies, is a painting made of pigment (painted with pigment).

Lacquer painting appeared in China as early as more than 2,000 years ago (the lacquered painting of Warring States figures unearthed in Changsha-the lacquered painting of dancers is the earliest lacquered painting with a complete picture). China is the birthplace of lacquer painting. However, today's lacquer painting in China is not in the same strain, but was born and grew under the cultivation of modern art education.
