What do Americans think of China students learning British English?

Thanksgiving just past is an important holiday in America, but not in Britain. Don't say Happy Thanksgiving to anyone except Americans. There are also some slang words with ethnic or racial characteristics. All the words in the textbook are taught by the teacher. And there are many English words in contact. For example, we all know that taxis are taxi, which is used by British people and cab by Americans. I feel that it is still a little difficult for us to communicate with American students.
