In the second year of Hongwu in Ming Dynasty (1369), Xiao Baixin, a Sichuan immigrant, left his hometown and moved here to settle down, named Xiao Jia. With the approval of the county government, it was renamed Beixiaojia on 1982 because of the same name in the place name census.

Sunjiazhuang, located about 4 kilometers southwest of the town government residence, is a large settlement on the north side of Wei Wu (Weihai to Wuhai) Expressway. During the Hongwu period of the Ming Dynasty, Sun built a village and named Sunjiazhuang after Sun. Later it was in Beixiaojia Village.
