Northeast population in late Qing Dynasty
At the end of the Qing Dynasty, the total population of the three northeastern provinces was nearly 20 million.
According to the "Demography of Three Provinces in Northeast China", the population of Liaoning, Jilin and Heilongjiang in 1893 was 4.3 million, 626,000 and 1 10,000 respectively, with a total population of about 6 million. By the end of the Qing Dynasty, another census was conducted, and the result showed that the total population of the three northeastern provinces was1977,000.
