A brief introduction to the writing background of Silent Confessions (why the author wrote this book)

The author Ng Chi-shi grew up in Pennsylvania and Ohio in the United States. Her parents are both scientists, and she is the second generation of immigrants from Hong Kong. Before publishing "Silent Confessions", she had been writing for many years, and her novels and prose works appeared in various literary journals and magazines.

"Silent Confession" is Wu Qishi's first novel which took her six years to write.

She said that she had always liked writing before, but she never thought that writing could be a career. She had been writing stories, poems, and plays throughout middle school and high school, and she had been writing for a long time.

But to be honest, it wasn’t until she earned her master’s degree that she believed she could write full-time.
