Enlightenment from the case of illegal immigrant children in the United States

The New York Times disclosed that along the southwestern border of the United States, the business of receiving, transporting and supervising children and minors of illegal immigrants crossing the border illegally is actually a business with a scale of billions of dollars. Recently, under the "zero tolerance" policy of the United States, 2,300 children of illegal immigrants were forced to be separated from their parents, which also exposed this industry that most people don't know.

Large-scale refuge industry

Since 20 15, Southwest Key Programs, a non-profit organization in charge of running shelters, has won at least $955 million in federal contracts to provide related services such as accommodating children of illegal immigrants. They are just two in the shelter industry. In Texas alone, more than a dozen contractors operate more than 30 shelters. In other 16 states, more than 100 shelters are operated by * * * contractors.
