When can AIDS be cured?
(1) Acute phase: It usually occurs about 2-4 weeks after the first HIV infection. The main clinical manifestations are fever, sore throat, night sweats, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, rash, joint pain, lymphadenopathy and nervous system symptoms. Most patients have mild clinical symptoms, which will be relieved after 1-3 weeks. At this stage, HIV-RNA and P24 antigen can be detected in blood, and HIV antibody will only appear a few weeks after infection. CD4+ T lymphocyte count decreased temporarily, and CD4/CD8 ratio could be reversed.
(2) Asymptomatic period: you can enter this period from the acute period, or you can enter this period directly without obvious acute symptoms. The duration of this period is generally 6-8 years. But some have made rapid progress, and some have not made progress for a long time. The length of this period is related to the number, type, route of infection, immune status and other factors.
