Why are there three license plates in Foshan?
It turns out that Nanhai and Shunde in the five districts of Foshan are independent cities with their own license plates. After merging into the Giant Buddha Mountain, they kept their own license plate number. Among them, Shunde is Guangdong X, Nanhai is Guangdong Y and Foshan E, so now Foshan has three license plates, E, X and Y. Generally, a city has only one license plate and Guilin has only two, so there is only one city in China with three license plates like Foshan.
Foshan is one of the cradles of Lingnan culture. Known as the hometown of pottery, Cantonese opera, martial arts, Lingnan medicine and folk art, it has formed unique folk culture such as autumn colors and auspiciousness. The main birthplace of martial arts in southern China, Cai Lifo Boxing, Hong Boxing and Wing Chun Boxing, which are widely circulated in the world, all originated in Foshan. Famous martial arts master Huang Feihong, Wing Chun masters Liang Zan and Ye Wen, film and television martial arts star Bruce Lee and other ancestral homes and teachers are also in Foshan, with more than 20 million overseas disciples of martial arts. In 2004, Foshan was awarded the title of "China Wushu City" by the State Sports General Administration.
