The History and Culture of Dongwang Township
Dongwang is an interlingual variant of Tibetan "Diumarong", which means underground treasure house. It is named after the mountainous gullies in the territory, where farmland and cottages are submerged. Dongwang Township has a long history. According to the textual research on the sarcophagus site excavated by Xinlian Village Committee of Dongwang Township, where shrimp villagers are small, it is found that as early as 2000 years ago, the ancient sick people had been active in Dongwang, creating a splendid ancient culture. In the Tang Dynasty, the Tubo Dynasty, which rose in the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, went south and passed through the northwest of Yunnan. Like other towns and villages in our county, they were assimilated by Tubo people and formed Tibetans. In the Yuan Dynasty, the Mongolian army went south to Dali and passed through the East King. The names of Huala Village Group of Shengli Village Committee and Huorong Village Group of Xinlian Village Committee were all Tibetan titles for Mongolians in the Yuan Dynasty. These place names are related to the whereabouts of the Mongols at that time. During the Ming Dynasty, with the support of the Ming Dynasty, Mu Tusi, a local power of Naxi people living in Lijiang, northwest Yunnan, entered Kangnan Tibetan area in the north. In view of Dongwang's special geographical position, Mu Tusi made great efforts to govern Dongwang, emigrated to garrison, sent officials to set up government, spread intensive agricultural production technology in the mainland, and promoted Dongwang's economic development. Today, the Mambujiang villagers' group of Xinlian Village Committee in Dongwang Township and the Dabujiangmin villagers' group of Yuejin Village Committee were both built by Mutus immigrants at that time. "Jiang" is the Tibetan name of Naxi nationality. Hundreds of years have passed, and Naxi people have been assimilated by local Tibetans. At the end of Ming Dynasty and the beginning of Qing Dynasty, the Mongolian Hoxud Department in Qinghai went south to the northwest of Yunnan, and the East King was under the management of Batang Tusi under the local government of Tibet. In the second year of Yongzheng in Qing Dynasty (1724), Geza was under the jurisdiction of thousands of general managers, with eight administrative villages (commonly known as Eight Books of East Kings) and three general managers (equivalent to village heads). 1906 Zhao erfeng, minister of Sichuan and Yunnan in Qing dynasty, sent troops to look for villagers in the east. 19 18 At that time, the serf owners in Dingxiang County (now a township and city) in Kangqu robbed Dongwang by force, and the houses in the whole territory were almost burned down and all the property was robbed. Since then, the bandits of the East King have continued, and the people are miserable. 192 1 year, because of heavy taxes and miscellaneous fees, there was an uprising of 300 people against donations in Dongwang. 1950 after the peaceful liberation of Zhongdian, Dongwang office was established in Dingchun Village, the central village of Dongwang Township. 1958 After the democratic reform quelled the rebellion, the Dongwang District People's Government was established, and it was changed to Dong Wanggong Society at the end of the same year. 1962 was renamed Dongwang District. 1968 was renamed Dong Wanggong Society. 1984 is also called Dongwang District. In the same year, the resident of the district government moved from the original central village of Kathy to Saha, a village group in White. 1988, the district was changed to Dongwang Township.
