Why is the Paris terrorist attack a challenge to European values?

France has always been called the heart of Europe. Today's European values and political thinking patterns come from the French Enlightenment and the18th century revolution. However, from the second half of the twentieth century to the beginning of the twenty-first century, the glory of France has faded. This terrorist attack in Paris once again shows how fragile European values are in the face of the cold reality of life and hostile forces that are not bound by relevant morality and politics. The core foundation of European values is freedom, equality and fraternity, but it is in this birthplace of the Renaissance that two world wars broke out for survival resources and development space. After World War II and the establishment of the European Union after the Cold War, the shadow of social and economic crisis has never been shaken off. However, in order to ensure peace between European countries and between immigrants and local people, one of the measures taken by France and other western European countries is to implement a tolerant policy and tolerate different views and customs, which has in fact become the dominant direction of European social policy. If this policy can still play a peaceful role among different factions of European civilization, it will be powerless when it conflicts with other religious civilizations with great differences in European civilization and values. With the dominance of tolerance policy and the increasing influence of Muslim residents, Europe is more and more inclined to show kindness to the Islamic world on international issues and support Islamic countries on many key issues, such as increasing pressure on Israel.

Unfortunately, in the eyes of Islamic extremists, tolerance in the European value system is worthless, and tolerance for satirizing Islamic leaders and religious prophets is even more intolerable.
