Visa refers to a kind of permission certificate that the domestic or foreign authorities of a country stamp and endorse passports or other valid travel documents held by citizens of other countries, indicating that passport (certificate) holders are allowed to enter, leave or pass through the territory of that country.

The US Embassy has five visa offices in China: Beijing, Shanghai, Chengdu, Guangzhou and Shenyang.

For non-immigrant visas, the visa location is determined by the place of residence:

Beijing, Tianjin, Xinjiang, Qinghai, Gansu, Shaanxi, Shanxi, Inner Mongolia, Ningxia, Hebei, Henan, Shandong, Hubei, Hunan or Jiangxi Beijing, the visa office of the US Embassy.

The US Consulate General in Chengdu is located in Guizhou, Sichuan, Yunnan, Tibet or Chongqing.

The US Consulate General in Shenyang is from Liaoning, Jilin or Heilongjiang.

American Consulate General in Shanghai, Zhejiang, Jiangsu or Anhui

The US Consulate General in Guangzhou is located in Fujian, Guangdong, Hainan or Guangxi.

Note: Place of residence refers to the place of residence in the last six months. For example, your family is in Guangdong, but you have been working in Beijing for the last six months. You should apply for a visa in Beijing.

Immigrant visa: Guangzhou
