Job Recruitment Website - Ranking of immigration countries - How much of the domestic intermediary's propaganda about studying in Canada is false?
How much of the domestic intermediary's propaganda about studying in Canada is false?
Publicity 1: You can study abroad without language achievement.
For many parents in China, the most worrying thing is their children's language performance, and domestic study agents value this point, saying in their study abroad propaganda: "You can go to a famous university without language performance." Language scores can replace college entrance examination scores (or college entrance examination scores can replace language scores).
In fact, anyone who knows a little about studying in Canada knows that this is almost impossible.
First of all, Chinese scores and college entrance examination scores are two concepts. Language achievement refers to whether your language can reach the test score of your ability to live and study in the local area (usually including TOEFL or IELTS). The college entrance examination result is the final test result of your three years in high school.
These two concepts cannot be confused, let alone replace language scores with test scores (or replace college entrance examination scores with language scores). We can imagine that if a student's college entrance examination score is close to perfect except English, and his language score (TOEFL or IELTS) is unqualified, how can he have the advantage to apply for a school in Canada? How to protect your life in Canada?
Most Canadian universities require foreign students from China to have a high school score of over 75%, an IELTS average score of over 6.5 and a TOEFL score of no less than 20.
For students whose IELTS or TOEFL scores fail to meet the requirements, or who have no language scores, they can only enter the school if they meet the language requirements of their favorite universities.
So the statement that you don't need language grades simply doesn't hold water. No matter any university or college in Canada, students need to meet their language scores before they can enter the school.
Publicity 2: You can study in Canada if you have money.
For many China families who don't know about studying in Canada, they are convinced that "as long as they have money, they can study in Canada, as long as they have money, they can prepare all the materials, and as long as they have money, there is no problem in forging materials".
If you hold this idea, it's all wet! With sufficient funds, it may be possible to speed up the preparation of materials, but it must not be used for false materials. In a previous case, an international student from China was taken back to the Immigration Bureau by the police for investigation during class because he forged a deposit certificate, which eventually led to his repatriation.
Such cases abound, and the reason is because of fraud. Xiao Liu (pseudonym), an international student in China, said that he was too lazy to prepare materials, so he bought a proof of funds from a treasure and submitted it to the Immigration Bureau. As a result, it was found to be fraudulent. Not only were the application materials invalid, but the visa was also refused. I am afraid that my favorite university could not be admitted.
Canada is a country with "zero tolerance" for counterfeiting. If they find that China students use false application materials at the application stage, they will be refused visas. If fraud is rejected twice-blacklisted, you will never be able to submit your application again; If you have successfully gone abroad with a fake deposit certificate, once you are found to be fraudulent, you are likely to be repatriated; Criminal responsibility may be investigated for using false deposit certificates to prove foreign investment and assets are insolvent.
So students in China and parents in China should pay attention. Never listen to the propaganda of domestic intermediaries. Money is everything. This trick doesn't work when applying for your favorite university.
Publicity 3: if you join our preparatory course, you will definitely go to a famous university.
In fact, China students (parents) should be alert when they see such definite, affirmative and absolute words. Generally speaking, matriculation is only a shortcut for China students to enter famous universities, not a direct choice.
Many institutions studying abroad have seized the anxiety of domestic parents to send their children to prestigious schools, and publicized how good the preparatory schools they recommended are and how suitable they are for China students. As long as you attend classes, you will definitely be able to attend a famous Canadian school.
When I really went to that school, I found that this was not the case. Children still can't go directly to famous universities, but they still have to go through the application process. This makes many parents think that they have been cheated and even go to court.
In addition to this common means of publicity, domestic study agents have also grasped the core of China parents' dream of studying abroad-no matter what their children's grades are, they all have an expectation, that is, there are famous schools suitable for their children.
Therefore, these intermediaries often tell parents in China that it doesn't matter whether the grades are good or not! What is important is that there are links and "ways" between institutions studying abroad, which can help children with poor grades to go to famous schools.
This undoubtedly made many parents believe it, and they went to the study agent to pay for the agreement. But if you know a little about the requirements of these prestigious schools, you will know that it is impossible to go to a prestigious school without good grades.
Taking the University of Toronto as an example, China students are required to have an average of more than 85% of their three-year high school transcripts and an IELTS score of 6.5 or above. This requirement cannot be solved by "having a way" alone! This is naked false propaganda!
Compared with overseas study institutions, you are not the only parent, and there are many other parents. If everyone is guaranteed "access", there will be so many places in prestigious schools. Are they all occupied by you? Thinking about it is also a deceptive means.
If domestic parents encounter such propaganda as study abroad agents, don't be fooled easily! You can consult the local education bureau or the office of a prestigious school with cooperation first, and ask whether you can really go to this prestigious school after reading the preparatory course. Don't be fooled by the intermediary and regret it.
Publicity 4: Living expenses and tuition fees are lower than those in Britain and America.
Some study agents will also publicize that the living expenses and tuition fees in Canada are lower than those in Britain and the United States, which is suitable for China students who work and study. But is this really the case?
Universities in Canada are mainly public universities, so their fees are really low. It's different from the American education system. In the United States, private universities are dominant, and the annual undergraduate course is about 50,000 to 70,000 US dollars (about 350,000 to 490,000 RMB), while the annual undergraduate course in Britain is about 30,000 to 50,000 pounds (about 260,000 to 440,000 RMB).
Secondly, in the United States, the annual living expenses are between 200,000 and 250,000 RMB, and in Britain, it is about 6.5438+0.05 million RMB.
Therefore, on the one hand, Canadian universities spend less on tuition and living expenses than the United States and Britain, but how much less depends on the regional environment and school fees where China students are located. But generally speaking, domestic study agents are right, and Canada is indeed a country with very high cost performance.
I hope that every parent and student can keep their eyes open and participate in the understanding of the study abroad plan, and don't listen to the false propaganda of the organization at will.
Don't even think about taking shortcuts, there are no shortcuts on the way to study!
