Harold holt's resume.
Holt served in the Australian Parliament for 32 years, much longer than former Prime Minister robert menzies (18), but he only served as Australian Prime Minister for 22 months. Holt relaxed the policy of White Australia and lifted some legal restrictions on immigration and settlement during his tenure as Minister of Immigration. During his tenure as Finance Minister, he helped the menzies government to carry out some major fiscal reforms, including the establishment of the Reserve Bank of Australia and the conversion of the Australian dollar into decimal.
Holt supported Australia's involvement in the Vietnam War, and his famous saying was "accompany LBJ all the way". During his tenure as Prime Minister, he held a referendum on 1967, which passed an overwhelming constitutional amendment and decided to legislate for the indigenous people in Australia and include the indigenous population in the population statistics.
