What influence did being governor of Gaul have on Caesar?

Being governor of Gaul changed Caesar's life, and the decision of the Roman Senate also changed the fate of Rome and the country, thus changing the historical process of Western Europe. After Caesar became governor of Gaul, his primary goal was to conquer the whole Gaul region. Caesar basically annexed the whole Gaul region through the combination of disintegration and military conquest.
