Some people say that the Northeasters are descendants of the Khitans. Is there any basis for this statement?

Northeasters are not necessarily descendants of the Khitans. The Daur people of the northeast minority are descendants of the Qidan minority.

Khitan (English: Khitay) is an ancient nomadic people in China, which originated in the northeast of China and lived a semi-agricultural and semi-pastoral life. The early stage is divided into eight parts. In the early Tang Dynasty, a unified Yamato Alliance was formed. After Emperor Taizong, the Tang Dynasty set up the Governor's Office at the end of the Song Dynasty and gave him the surname Li.
