The state stipulates how many meters the rural houses are away from the highway.

(a) the national highway is not less than 20 meters;

(two) the provincial highway is not less than 15 meters;

(three) the county road is not less than 10 meters;

(four) the township road is not less than 5 meters.

For expressways, the distance from the outer edge of highway land to the highway construction control area is not less than 30 meters. The scope of the control area of highway bends, interchanges and buildings inside grade crossing is determined according to the requirements of safe sight distance.

Highway routes stipulate that it is forbidden to engage in mining, quarrying, earth borrowing, blasting and other activities that endanger the safety of highways, highway bridges, highway tunnels and highway ferries within the following scope:

(1) The outer edge of the land for national, provincial and county roads is outward 100 m, and the outer edge of the land for township roads is outward 50 m;

(two) 200 meters around the highway ferry and medium-sized highway bridge;

(three) 100 meters above the highway tunnel and outside the hole.

Within the scope specified in the preceding paragraph, if it is necessary to build dams, compress or widen river beds for emergency rescue and flood control, it shall be approved by the transportation departments of the people's governments of provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities directly under the Central Government in conjunction with the water administrative departments or river basin management agencies, and safety protection measures shall be taken before it can be carried out.
