How to evaluate the movie Alien Contract

Alien: contract: enterprising, smooth and brave VS content, loyalty and kindness.

This article has deep spoilers! Friends who haven't seen it yet but are going to see it suggest not to see it for the time being.

Although I went to see Alien: Contract yesterday, I didn't write anything after I came back ... I was amazed at the scale and exquisiteness of ridley scott's creation of Alien Universe, and I had the illusion of "dare not write"-this is not laziness or timidity, but more like awe of an excellent work.

If I ask whether this movie is good or not, I will definitely say yes, but this "good" is more out of the context of Prometheus and alien series, and I admire Mr. Lei's design of "alien movie". If we only pay attention to the movie "Contract", it looks like a relatively new movie-but even so.

In this paper, I don't want to leave my schoolbag and tell a story about the past lives of aliens. On the one hand, there are many people who can speak better (it is recommended that interested friends look for them), on the other hand, the ink in their stomachs is limited, so it is enough to focus only on the contract.

Before we begin, let's briefly and rudely introduce the background knowledge: the mysterious and intelligent race "engineer" in the universe created human beings (later suspected of trying to destroy them), and human civilization developed to later create a biochemical man, and took the biochemical man David to the universe to pursue his creator on Prometheus. As a result, he found the variation substance black water on the alien spacecraft at his destination, which was almost completely annihilated. Finally, the only survivor, Dr. Elizabeth Shaw, took the rest of David.

Therefore, a scene appeared in David's memory. The "engineers" are not waiting for heroes who came back triumphantly after performing tasks thousands of years ago, but "creations" that bring death and destruction.

With this tone, the story of Alien: Contract is not difficult to understand: David stayed in the engineer's home planet for nearly 10 years. Because of the raging black water, it is already a dead star and lifeless. Although David has been doing alien research here, because of the destruction of the spaceship, David is equivalent to being trapped on this planet. He sent signals to outer space through the residual audio system on the spacecraft.

So the contract number in this film came.

The contract is a space colonial spaceship, which will go to Origae VI to carry out pioneering tasks. In addition to the biochemical Walter who operated the spacecraft, more than a dozen crew members, 2,000 colonists and several boxes of embryos were frozen and dormant for a long time.

Think about how many of these crew members are still alive? )

An accident forced the crew to wake up. The accident caused dozens of casualties. The most terrible thing is that Captain Branson (played by Hulan Lan) was burned to death ... A group of people lost their backbone and had to be presided over by the vice captain Ou Lang according to the rules.

Many people think that Oulang is incompatible with the cast, and the long-term "lower IQ limit" is unacceptable, but I think it is very true-from Danny's video, I can know that Branson is born an adventurer who loves challenges and is not afraid of death. This kind of leader is very suitable to be a captain, and it is normal to give him a conservative and restrained first mate to restrain the "crazy captain" appropriately.

Therefore, Oulang himself is not suitable to be a captain. He is always worried that the crew will not accept him, and he lacks enough prestige. ...

Therefore, he ignored those suspicious signals and ordered to land and explore a new livable planet. Just because most of the crew are eager to try, he looks like an inviter to do so.

As the only heroine in the film who is intelligent and the Force is online for a long time, Dany naturally shoulders the heavy responsibility of maintaining safety and continuing vitality.

The Alien series has always admired strong women, whether it is Queen Ripley in the old version or Dr Elizabeth Shaw before, they are all examples of strong and brave women.

In the Contract, Dany also showed this temperament (otherwise, how could she be a couple with the captain). Wisdom can get off the boat safely, and courage can tear aliens off the sky ... I have to say that Dany's image of a woman in this film is still a bit superficial.

But this can't be helped, because the real protagonist of the contract is not Dany or aliens, but David &; Walter. ! !

As the "first machine" built by Waylon, David not only has a huge artificial intelligence knowledge reserve and hands-on ability, but more importantly, he is endowed with the ability of "independent thinking".

It is precisely because of his excellent intellectual foundation from birth that he not only named himself "David", but also immediately told his creator a heinous fact: "You humans will die, but I won't."

Ironically, the fate of biochemical people is the same as that of human beings. When they realize that what they have created is out of control, and may even evolve more perfectly than themselves, both human beings and engineers choose to "transform" their own creations. The difference is that the engineer failed and the human succeeded-so there was a new generation of biochemical man Walter.

In terms of physical function and technical level, Walter's "score" is higher than that of the first generation robot David, but these biochemical people have been castrated for their independent thinking and self-learning ability in order to "serve mankind better".

I think the best part of the whole movie "Contract" is the exchange and confrontation between David and Walter.

David, who has been "awakened", is not only determined to dominate his own destiny, but also has the ambition to be a new generation of "creators" (or grand aspirations), so he naturally disdains being a servant of "human beings who should be eliminated". But David is willing to give his brother Walter, who is also a biochemical man, a chance to "abandon darkness and turn to light"-so there are three dialogues.

The first time, Walter went to David, but the other party played the flute with him. Walter said no, and David said, "Do you want to learn? I'll teach you ",Walter really blew a passage, and David thought," A willing son can teach you ";

The second time, David took Walter to pay homage to Dr. Xiao, and then said, "I love Xiao as much as you love Dany", while Walter said, "It's a responsibility". Then David deliberately said that Shelley's poems were written by Byron. As well-educated biochemical people, they won't make such low-level mistakes ... so this time, David will not only test whether Walter has "awakened" his feelings, but also whether he has a "rebellious heart".

For the third time, it's time for both sides to come to the rescue. Walter corrected David's mistake and said, "You can't ruin the whole movement because of one note"-at this time, Walter also awakened his self-awareness, but he chose to stand on the side of mankind.

Next is the most interesting and intriguing bridge.

David knew that Walter would not "revolutionize" himself, so he turned off his kinetic energy without preparation. Unexpectedly, Walter reappeared and hit David to the north with a broken hand, which shows that Walter's technology production level far exceeds David's, and the upgraded version is stronger than the prototype.

But before Walter ended David, the latter confused the former with sophistry and achieved the goal of anti-killing. Obviously, David defeated the ignorant and naive Walter by relying on the more mature and sophisticated "human nature"-to say the least, even if both biochemical people have self-awareness, it is also the quality existing in human nature, and greed (enterprising), cunning (smooth) and ruthlessness (daring) overcame contentment (contentment).

This is the meaning of good works. It allows you to let go of the possible shortcomings in the process and speculate on the profound significance contained in the work.

Finally, I have to mention aliens. All versions of Prometheus can be regarded as incomplete. After David came to the engineer's hometown planet, he has been using all kinds of birds and animals on the planet to carry out cultivation experiments. Too bad it didn't go well. The ideal "matrix" is still human, but before the contract came, the only human around David was Elizabeth Shaw. ...

So David's singing is not only to attract spaceships, but also to provide door-to-door service for "mice". Finally, he cultivated an alien with the face-hugging bug and the acting captain Oulang.

However, the aliens in the first battle were not completely successful. Although they were able to kill all sides, they still lost to the survivors Danny and Tennessee ... but David didn't care. His ultimate goal is to be a creator (with the most perfect inanimate objects) and create the most perfect creatures.

David deceived Dany and became Walter, blaming most of the crew's deaths on accidents, erasing the voyage record of the engineer's home planet, freezing the rest of the crew, colonists, embryos ... and two carefully preserved alien embryos, and continuing to sail to planet Olga VI as planned.

The sacred cause has just begun.

Having written so much, I still say this film is worth going to the cinema, but many people will definitely mention the problem of (damn) "cutting six minutes".

According to friends who have seen the full version, the main deleted scenes include the white aliens killing the crew, the aliens breaking out of Oulang's body, the full picture of Elizabeth Shaw's body, the whole process of the crew being attacked by a face-hugging bug and giving birth to another alien, and all aliens sticking out their tongues. ...

It can be said that the version currently being played in the cinema has little influence on the understanding of the theme and the overall impression of the film, but the completeness and the degree of horror have been reduced by one grade ... Although it is more in line with our "national conditions" and is conducive to allowing more ordinary audiences to watch the film, it is still a little regrettable for those who strive for originality.

The Alien series started an era. Everyone not only remembered its epoch-making significance, but also talked about the styles of four different directors in the past four films.

But combining Alien, Prometheus and Alien: Contract, it turns out that ridley scott's Alien is the best.

Look at this posture, the "prequel trilogy" has become a "tetralogy", and old man Lei is 8 1 year old this year-so you must live a long and healthy life!
