Folk customs in kinmen county

There are many things around Jinmen's house to ward off evil spirits, such as the eight diagrams mirror, the wind lion on the wall, and so on. The wind lion shoulders the sacred task of defending the peace of the village. Among the evil spirits in Xiaojinmen, the pheasant that eats termites is used to keep out the wind. Jinmen lacks deep bay, Hong Kong and Macao, and the land is barren and arid. Because life is not easy, most residents engage in small-scale farming and fishing, or enlist in the army. Therefore, the local residents, except the families of officials, are mostly farmers, workers and a few businessmen. Under this social background, the cultural characteristics derived from it have two extremes: nobility and vulgarity. However, the real life culture of Kinmen people should still be dominated by ordinary people. According to the results of "Happy City Survey in Taiwan Province Province" released by Taiwan Province media, kinmen county was rated as the happiest city in Taiwan Province Province for three consecutive years on 20 12, 20 13 and 20 14.

The folk custom of Jinmen not only maintains the characteristics of southern Fujian, but also has unique charm. Bao Zhong 18 Minnan-style ancient residence located at the northern end of Jinsha River, with towering swallowtail, not only represents the folk custom of Kinmen, but also reflects the rich and colorful Chinese culture, and has been turned into a "folk culture village".
