Conditions for immigration to Canada
People born in Canada can automatically acquire Canadian citizenship, except that at the time of birth, one parent was a member of a permanent diplomatic mission in Canada or an international organization of the United Nations, and neither parent was a Canadian citizen or had permanent residence status. In addition, people born in foreign countries have Canadian citizenship if one of their parents is a Canadian citizen.
