Yankou Town, Shouxian County, ranks among the national key towns.

The Ministry of Housing, Urban-Rural Development and other departments jointly issued a notice to re-identify 3,675 towns as national key towns, including 127 in Anhui Province, and Yankou Town became the only key town in Shouxian County. According to the notice of the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development, national key towns are the key points and leaders in the construction and development of small towns; All localities and relevant departments should support the construction and development of national key towns in terms of policies, land and project arrangements in accordance with the requirements of improving quality, saving land and embodying characteristics; Relevant ministries and commissions will study and formulate guiding opinions on strengthening the construction and development of key towns nationwide, establish a dynamic adjustment mechanism for key towns nationwide, and guide and support the construction and development of key towns nationwide. Yankou Town is located 21 kilometers south of Shouxian County, adjacent to Anfengtang, with a land area of 125.3 square kilometers. It has jurisdiction over 11 village committees, 2 neighborhood committees and 1 community, with 438 villagers' groups and 14,922 households. The total population of the town is 6,857, including 55,617 agricultural, 5,24 non-agricultural and 2,172 ethnic minorities. Yankou Town is a big agricultural town with rich products and convenient transportation. Provincial Highway 23 (Shouliu Road) runs through the town for 18 kilometers, and county-level cement roads such as Yansu Road, Yantao Road, Yankai Road and Shiying Road have been completed. The establishment of this national key town will play an irreplaceable positive role in accelerating the pace of small urbanization construction in Yankou Town and promoting its all-round rapid economic and social development.
