Economic development of ancient villages and towns

Gucheng Township has a vast territory, with an administrative area of 2,654,600 mu and cultivated land of 332 14 mu, with per capita cultivated land of 3 mu. Mainly produces wheat, corn, cotton, sugar beet, cumin, high-quality fruits, vegetables and other agricultural products. Cotton, cumin and sugar beet have become important pillar industries in the township. In 2002, the township planted cotton 1.8 million mu, with a total output of 2 1.86 tons (lint). In 2003, the cotton planting area will reach 26,800 mu, with a total output of 3,250 tons (lint).

Gucheng Township is located in the north of Fuhuai Railway and east of Provincial Highway 224, only 4.2 kilometers away from Yingshang Railway Station, with convenient transportation and active market. The planned Yingshang-Lianhua Temple Expressway runs through the whole ancient city and will become the main commercial logistics distribution center in the north of Yingshang. Gucheng Township will take the construction of a new socialist countryside as the goal, take the construction of Liu Zhuang coal mine resettlement area as the breakthrough point, speed up the urbanization process, coordinate urban and rural economic development, and create an excellent production and living environment for the masses.
